Rolling Start's Services:

SYSTEMS AND INDIVIDUAL ADVOCACY

Rolling Start trains and empowers consumers in Self-Advocacy techniques to create positive change in areas such as transportation, housing, I.H.S.S. issues as well as Social Security.

ACCESS 2000

Assists with eliminating barriers that prevent people with disabilities from accessing Alcohol Recovery and Services. We also conduct Alcohol Prevention trainings in the Community.

DEAF SERVICES

Provides American Sign Language (ASL) contract interpreters throughout the communities.  Deaf Advocate and Peer Counselor is also available.

INFORMATION AND REFERRAL

Resources are available to assist with locating services, products or activities available in the community that pertain to the needs of Persons With Disabilities.

ACCESSIBLE HOUSING REFERRAL

Referrals are available upon request as well as assistance with creating resident councils, mediation training and intervention in landlord-tenant disputes.

PERSONAL ASSISTANT REFERRAL

A registry of qualified applicants is maintained for referrals.  Applicants are screened prior to being placed on the list.

INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS TRAINING

Topics include, Self-Esteem, Job Seeking Skills Training, Peer Counseling Training, Money Management Training, Community Resource Education, Personal Assistant Management Training and more.  We also offer Ongoing Support Groups for people with all types of disabilities.

HELP LINE

Help Line is an electronic unit that summons help in emergencies by automatically signaling a 24 hour response center at the touch of a button.

PEER ADVISORS

Support and assist individuals experiencing problems related to their disability in a group or individual setting.
