ADA 35: A Powerful Week of Advocacy

Wrapping up an incredible week in DC.

What a week it’s been! As we conclude an incredible and impactful few days in Washington, DC, we’re taking a moment to look back on everything we experienced during the 2025 NCIL Conference and the 35th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act.

Throughout the week, we had the chance to connect with advocates from across the country, share knowledge, and elevate the voices of our community. We were proud to take part in and attend the NCIL Conference, where important tools and strategies were shared with conference attendees.

We also had the opportunity to meet directly with Representative Pete Aguilar to talk about how Rolling Start’s services can support his constituents. These conversations are critical in ensuring the needs of our community are understood and supported at every level. And to top it all off, we even had a quick encounter with Senator Bernie Sanders during the week!

One of the most powerful moments came as we marched alongside our peers through the streets of DC, raising our voices and making our presence known. The energy was electric, and the unity of purpose was unforgettable.

Today, July 26, marks the 35th anniversary of the signing of the ADA. We’re closing out the week with deep gratitude, new connections, and a renewed commitment to continue the work of access, inclusion, and equity.

We’re proud to be part of this movement. Here’s to 35 years of progress and the work still ahead!
