Disability Rights Are Human Rights:

Rolling Start at the 2025 NCIL Conference and Celebrating the ADA 35th Anniversary!

Rolling Start Inc. is proud to stand alongside passionate disability advocates from across the nation at the 2025 National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Conference and the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) in Washington, D.C.

This week, Rolling Start joined hundreds of others in a powerful march to the U.S. Capitol, representing the disability community from California, Hawaii, and beyond. Together, we raised our voices to protect and advance the rights secured under the ADA and to push for even more inclusive policies in housing, employment, healthcare, transportation, and beyond.

The crowd was a sea of light blue as participants wore the 35th Anniversary ADA shirt and carried signs with bold messages, including:

  • 📣 ADA + 504: I AM EQUAL TOO!

  • 📣 I ❤️ INDEPENDENT LIVING

  • 📣 ACCESS IS ALOHA

Many attendees were people with visible and invisible disabilities, using wheelchairs, mobility devices, or accompanied by service animals. The energy, solidarity, and spirit of this event reminded us that the fight for equity continues and Rolling Start is proud to be part of this national movement.
