Braille Literacy Month & Glaucoma Awareness
January marks the start of a new year and Braille Literacy Month, recognizing braille as an essential tool for literacy, independence, and accessibility for people who are blind or have low vision. The month also aligns with Glaucoma Awareness, highlighting a leading cause of vision loss and the ongoing need for accessible communication.
Braille literacy supports equal access to education, employment, and daily life. Observing Braille Literacy Month encourages communities to learn more about accessibility, disability inclusion, and the importance of communication equity for individuals with vision loss.
