This week, our Rolling Start team proudly joined disability rights advocates from across the country in Washington, D.C., to participate in the 2025 National Council on Independent Living (NCIL) Conference and commemorate the 35th Anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
With the Capitol dome standing tall in the distance, our team marched alongside hundreds of passionate organizers, activists, and allies in a powerful demonstration for disability justice, independent living, healthcare access, and full inclusion. From curb cuts to civil rights, every step taken on those historic streets was a testament to how far we’ve come and how much further we’re prepared to go.
These events are more than symbolic. They’re a reminder that the fight for fair access is ongoing and that our collective voices still matter in shaping inclusive policies and practices. Our presence in D.C. underscores Rolling Start’s deep commitment to the Independent Living Movement and the civil rights of people with disabilities.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who marched, organized, testified, and spoke truth to power this week. You remind us that disability rights are human rights, and progress is always possible when we move forward together.
