Job Title: Special Projects Coordinator (Part time/Temporary)

Reports to: ADRC Program Manager

Location: San Bernardino

Rolling Start, Inc., Center for Independent Living (RSI) is a 501c (3) not- for-profit organization that provides advocacy and services to people with all types of disabilities. The mission of RSI is to educate and empower people with disabilities to achieve the independent life of their choice. We have been serving San Bernardino county for 44 years.

Position Summary:

The Special Projects Coordinator will provide general support and complete various projects related to RSI programs which may include but is not limited to, systems change advocacy, emergency preparedness, covid-19 relief, digital divide, vaccine coordination projects, assistive technology and voice options.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Completes individual projects as assigned by the Executive Director
  • Develop, maintain, and oversee a system for tracking various projects and deliverables; ensuring RSI is meeting contractual obligations.

  • Activities pertaining to Systems Change; obtaining educational information, organize advocacy meetings, email and mailings pertaining to issues that support the independent living movement;

  • Assists to plan and execute project based events;

  • Assist in identifying, planning and facilitating outreach events and trainings

  • Assist with the development and distribution of training material;

  • Ordering supplies for projects ensuring maintenance of budget, and that purchase information is appropriately identified for finance processing.

  • Represent RSI at outreach events; 

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School graduate.
  • Minimum 2 years work experience.
  • Familiar with data bases, Microsoft Suite, Google Suite.
  • Works Independently and under minimal supervision.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with superior attention to detail and the ability to organize and express ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, detailed environment with minimal supervision.

Other Preferred Qualifications:

  • Disability Sensitivity and Etiquette;

  • Knowledge of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973 and the Americans with Disabilities Act, Work Incentives Act, and IDEA preferred.

  • Bilingual in Spanish a plus

Working Conditions:

The physical demands may vary. The noise level of the office working condition is low to moderate: mostly indoors, occasionally outdoors: moderate amount of travel: local, regional and statewide. Must be able to sit for a long period of time and handle multiple tasks at one time.
