Nina Dorado

Nina Dorado is an Independent Living Specialist for Rolling Start Inc. in Victorville, California. Before coming to Rolling Start Nina spent many years working with children and youth some of it in the non-profit sector and at one point had her own child care. For over seven years she served as a volunteer in the juvenile court system speaking to teens hoping to impart something that would be life changing and have an impact on their futures. She loved every minute of it and hopes to run into some of them in life and hear that their lives took a different turn. Nina received her B.A. from Chapman University and was working towards her goal of becoming a social worker in the foster care system but as “chance” would have it she began working with kids and adults with disabilities and has been doing that ever since. The part she loves most about her job at Rolling Start is talking and getting to know her “awesome” consumers better especially when she gets to meet them in one of Rolling Starts classes. Nina has three grown children that she doesn’t get to visit near enough and in her free time can be found on road trips getting lost (on purpose) painting, playing her guitar or writing stories.
