as Executive Director of Rolling Start Inc.

Please join us in welcoming Candis Welch as the new Executive Director of Rolling Start Inc.

Candis brings extensive leadership experience in disability rights, accessibility, and public service. Most recently, she served as Deputy Director for the IDEA Division at the California Department of Rehabilitation, where she also acted as the department’s EEO Officer and Title IX Coordinator.

As the founder of I AM ABLED Inc., Candis has led accessibility-focused trainings and delivered keynote presentations for organizations including the California State Assembly, University of California, Berkeley, and the Long Beach City Chamber of Commerce.

Living with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, Candis combines professional expertise with lived experience, bringing a strong understanding of the importance of independence, accessibility, and advocacy. In 2023, Gavin Newsom appointed her to the State Rehabilitation Council, recognizing her continued leadership and impact within the disability community.

Her experience, advocacy, and vision make her uniquely equipped to lead Rolling Start into its next chapter, and we are excited for the future ahead under her leadership.
